Shame that one cannot setup something to share and folks leave well enough alone if not really interested. It is a sign of times (the worst of times).

NO USER and NO RESOURCE ROLE backups of shared courses contained here made after 06/10/2010 will be compatible with Moodle 1.9.9. IF the backups are made by including no users AND no source roles, they should be compatible with 1.9.9 on the restore. Older backups provided by party sharing may have to be replaced for they are no longer compatible with 1.9.9 IF party sharing and creating the backup included source roles.

Contact those sharing the course for assistance if you experience issues on restore, please.

Attention All Coloodle Users

Policy change: if you register and contribute your account will be changed to a "contributor". If you register and do NOT contribute, you may use the system for a period of one month. Your account will then be removed.

Why the change? Coloodle was established to be a sharing place. Those that share stay. Those that don't, don't!

Changes in Accounts

Due to a security issue made public before the authors of Moodle could find resolutions to the issue(s), all accounts that have access levels of "Teacher" in any category or course have had the "backup" ability removed from the Admin menu of the course.

This means the backup file you create to share in your course has to be created on your local Moodle first and then made available in the course you upload to Coloodle.

If your Moodle uses "salted" users who download a shared backup of your course will have to be given a "salt key" in order for them to restore your shared course to their Moodle. That's a consideration for those of you who share.

While I generally "trust" teachers and fellow Moodlers, I think you can see why Coloodle has to take these measures.

Originally created to comply with TEA/Federal requirements for all schools in Texas (see the course description for specific references). When/IF TEA ask for specifics, you'll have some data to share.
